High Contrast Cinema head into 2026 by turning the clocks back further than they've ever done before for their latest season, to a time when the likes of Cary Grant, Katharine Hepburn and Henry Fonda first came to prominence.
The 'Screwball Season' launches on Friday 6th February with the perfectly matched William Powell and Myrna Loy as Nick and Nora Charles in the adaptation of Dashiell Hammett's The Thin Man (1934).
Then, on Friday 20th March, witness the incomparable pairing of Grant and Hepburn in George Cukor's Holiday (1938), followed by Fonda meeting his match in the form of Barbara Stanwyck on Friday 17th April in The Lady Eve (1941).
Finally, on Friday 15th May, Grant and Hepburn return, this time accompanied by the one and only James Stewart, in the screwball classic, The Philadelphia Story (1940)
Individual tickets will be going on sale shortly but we are offering a season ticket for just £26 which will guarantee entry for the four films.
Sales from these tickets will assist in covering the costs involved in running High Contrast Cinema so we encourage you to consider this option to support us. Even if you're not able to make all the screenings, consider it as an investment in the concept - it will go far in helping us to continue bringing classic movies and underrated gems to a big screen near you!
